Hanoi City Tour (Full-Day Hanoi Sightseeing by Motorbike)

Price: 0 USD/person

Tour Description

08:00 - 08:30: The vehicle will pick you up from hotels in the Old Quarter or the Hanoi Opera House to begin the Hanoi City Tour. In the morning, you will visit:

  • Tran Quoc Pagoda – located on an island to the east of West Lake (Tay Ho District). This nearly 1,500-year-old pagoda is considered the oldest in Thang Long – Hanoi. The pagoda's architecture harmoniously combines solemnity and antiquity with the elegant scenery of a vast, serene lake. It was the Buddhist center of the Thang Long citadel during the Ly and Tran dynasties.
  • Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex, which includes Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his stilt house, and fish pond, along with a visit to One Pillar Pagoda.
  • Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam: Considered the first university in Vietnam, this ancient structure, built on a large scale in October 1073, has stood the test of time. The Temple of Literature was constructed to honor Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, and Chu Van An, the principal of Quoc Tu Giam, representing the high ethical philosophy of Vietnamese education.

Lunch: Your guide will take you to a restaurant for lunch.

Afternoon: The tour continues with:

  • Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a complex of relics tied to the history of Thang Long – Dong Kinh and Hanoi, starting from the pre-Thang Long period (Annam Protectorate in the 7th century), through the Dinh – Early Le dynasties, flourishing under the Ly, Tran, and Le dynasties, and becoming Hanoi under the Nguyen dynasty. This grand architectural structure was built by successive dynasties and is one of Vietnam's most important heritage sites.
  • Visit Hoa Lo Prison, previously a prison located in Hanoi, also known as Central Prison or ironically as the "Hanoi Hilton." It was built when Indochina was an integral part of the French Empire. Partially demolished in 1990, it is now a museum.
  • Hoan Kiem Lake (also known as Sword Lake): Discover the Vietnamese and French architecture around the lake. You will visit and take photos outside Ngoc Son Temple, which is dedicated to Saint Van Xuong and the famous General Tran Hung Dao of Vietnamese and world history, along with The Huc Bridge. If you wish to enter the temple, you may purchase tickets at your own expense.

16:00: End of the Hanoi City Tour. The vehicle will take you back to your hotel in the Old Quarter, or you can hire a cyclo at your own expense for a ride around the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake, or attend a water puppet show (showtimes may vary depending on the period).
